The Art of Conversation: The Techniques of Know...

In our world today, several disciplines and aspects of our existence have evolved into art forms. We have the art of seduction, the art of war, the art of cooking, the art of sex, and the art of dancing, amongst many others. However, very few have perfected or even know about the most valuable art known to mankind, the art that should be at the centre of all our proficiencies: The Art of Conversation!  Humans are innately social creatures. That yearning, that irresistible urge to fellowship with another human being is at the core of what makes us who we are, preserves our sanity, and what has kept us since we came into being. We always seek to communicate with others, one way or another: We write books, sing songs, and draw images, all in a bid to communicate our thoughts and feelings. Communication is the expression of our souls.   However, the very same fellowship we so desperately seek has often times been ruined because we lack the necessary skills in this art of conversation, the ability to get our point across without looking like assholes. In this book, the author shows us what interpersonal communication is, its role in our lives, and also goes on to proffer 14 tips that will turn you into the James Bond of interpersonal communication.   1. Language: English. Narrator: Jim D Johnston. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/115455/bk_acx0_115455_sample.mp3. Digital audiobook in aax.

Yemenite Step

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Yemenite step is a dance step widely used in Yemenite Jewish dancing and Israeli folk dancing. In Yemen, where Jews were banned from dancing publicly, forms of dance evolved that are based on stationary hopping and posturing, such as can be done in a confined space. The basic Yemenite step provides a swaying movement that changes the dancer's direction of motion, although the dancer may face forward throughout the step. It is usually a sideways movement, but may be done moving backward and forward (or vice-versa). It consists of three steps, with a short pause on the final step for a "quick, quick, slow" tempo. The most common variations are known as a right Yemenite (or Yemenite right), and left Yemenite (or Yemenite left). (The alternate form of each name placing the adjective after the noun is due to a common preference among dance teachers to emphasize the name of the step rather than its direction.) Each of these names specifies both the direction of the first movement, and the foot on which the movement begins (and ends).

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Garifuna music is quite different from the rest of Central America. The most famous form is punta. Its associated musical style, which has the dancers move their hips from right to left in a circular motion. An evolved form of traditional music, still usually played using traditional instruments, punta has seen some modernization and electrification in the 1970s, this is called punta rock. Traditional punta dancing is consciously competitive. Artists like Pen Cayetano helped innovate modern punta rock by adding guitars to the traditional music, and paved the way for later artists like Andy Palacio, Children of the Most High and Black Coral.

Belly Dance, Pilgrimage and Identity

This book examines the globalization of belly dance and the distinct dancing communities that have evolved from it. The history of belly dance has taken place within the global flow of sojourners, immigrants, entrepreneurs, and tourists from the nineteenth to the twenty-first century. In some cases, the dance is transferred to new communities within the gender normative structure of its original location in North Africa and the Middle East. Belly dance also has become part of popular culture's Orientalist infused discourse. The consequence of this discourse has been a global revision of the solo dances of North Africa and the Middle East into new genres that are still part of the larger belly dance community but are distinct in form and meaning from the dance as practiced within communities in North Africa and the Middle East.

Vakill is known through his association with Chicago Hip Hop collective The Molemen, and for his literate, witty, punch line-filled lyricism and detailed story-telling.Raised on the South side of Chicago on 119th Street, Vakill was involved in Hip Hop at as early as eight years old, originally focusing on the break dancing element of the culture. So while the culture continually evolved through the ''80s and the music began to take center stage, Vakill began focusing rhyming, and found inspiration from respected lyricists such as Kool G Rap, Pharoahe Monch and Nas. In 1991, the young emcee met a high school classmate named Ed Zamudio at a local weekly event called Terrordome. Zamudio, later known as Panik, and Vakill, along with producers Memo and PNS, soon formed the Molemen, which would become one of the most prominent collectives in Chicago Hip Hop.
